Ganguly, Kumble, Sehwag and Parthiv to join team on Jan 7 PDF Print E-mail

Ganguly, Kumble, Sehwag and Parthiv Patel will join the team on Jaunary 7 after participating in the next round of Ranji matches starting Jan 3. The decision was approved by the team management and Top BCCI officials as the need was felt for these players to get some valuable match practice before the tough tour.

Ganguly confirmed his availibility for his team Bengal for their match against Tamil Nadu. The CAB has decided to name him captain for that match. Sehwag, Kumble and Parthiv will also turn up for Delhi, Karnataka & Gujarat respectively. They will reach Pakistan in time for the three day warm-up match on Jan 7. The rest of the Indian team is slated to arrive in Lahore on Jan 5.

The chairman of selectors Kiran More had earlier voiced his anger on Ganguly missing out on Bengal's match against Gujarat citing personal reasons. The board then decided to direct him to play the upcoming match against Tamil Nadu.
