Shoaib Akhtar has been officially ruled out of the remainder of the One day matches scheduled to be played. Inzamam announced this today afternoon in a press conference that he had injured his ankle and was advised four to six weeks rest by the physio and the doctors.

Akhtar faced a fitness test today which he failed, the Pakistan team management hopes to have him available for their encounter versus Sri Lanka, who seem to be inform after beating Australia in the 1st final of the VB series.

"Obviously Shoaib's forced absence is a big setback for us in this important series but he didn't play in the first two games and his absence should motivate the boys to raise their game," Inzamam told the press.
